This is my interpretation of the Zipactli / Cipactli tonalli, or Alligator / Crocodile day sign.
Cipactli or Alligator is #1 in the tonalli.

Cipactli is the first symbol in the tonalli. Cipactli is the beginning, the spark, conception. The sperm swimming to the ovum, into unknown primordial waters. The Birth of all things, the potentiality of all things. It is data, it is a stream of CURRENT-cy , the start of a cycle, time itself, a pillar of 3d reality.
Just like the night sky the stars and Alligators are almost unchanged from over 66 million years ago. When we look up at the sky its the same starry wonder that we have been gazing at,since the beginning of time.
